LAFAYETTE, CA – OCTOBER 9, 2017 – Temple Isaiah is honored to host Scholar-in-Residence, Rabbi David Saperstein Friday, October 27 to Saturday, October 28, 2017 to address "Our Shared Commitment to Preserve
Religious Freedom in the United States."

6:15pm - Multi-Faith Community Potluck in the Temple Isaiah Social Hall.
The inspirational evening will begin at 6:15pm with a Multi-Faith Community Potluck with an opportunity get to know other members of the multi-faith community. Please sign up with a dish to share if you plan to attend.
7:30pm - Shabbat service with Rabbi Saperstein in the Temple Isaiah Sanctuary
At 7:30pm, we will join together in the Temple Isaiah Sanctuary for an inspiring Shabbat service with Rabbi Saperstein. Following the service there will be a dessert reception.
Saturday, October 28
3pm - "Judaism and Justice" community discussion with Rabbi Saperstein in the Temple Isaiah Adult Lounge
On Saturday, October 28th from 3-5pm in the Temple Isaiah Adult Lounge, Rabbi Saperstein will return, as we invite the local Jewish community to learn from Rabbi Saperstein’s years of experience seeking justice. This event is open to all members of the Jewish community interested in pursuing justice in our community and beyond. This program will include question-and-answer time with Rabbi Saperstein. We invite our Reform CA partner congregations, the TI community and the local Jewish community members/groups to attend what is sure to be a remarkable and informative event. All are welcome and no R.S.V.P. necessary.
About Rabbi Saperstein: Rabbi Saperstein served two years as U.S. Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom. He has been recognized by Newsweek Magazine as the most influential rabbi in America, serving as our nation’s chief diplomat on religious freedom issues, former Director of the RAC, serving on boards including the NAACP, the National Religious Partnership and the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human rights, teacher of Church-State law at Georgetown University and Senior Advisory for Strategy and Policy for the Union of Reform Judaism.
