Sustainable Lafayette to Host Second Annual “Sustainable Sunday” fundraiser on October 4th at Metro Lafayette

Sustainable Lafayette will kick off fall with an afternoon program of conservation experts and fine food during its “Sustainable Sunday” fundraiser on October 4th from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. at Metro Lafayette. Congressman Mark Desaulnier will be among the featured guests at the event which benefits the organization’s programs, including Lafayette’s Earth Day Festival, Summer Environmental Film Series, Green Schools, Community Garden, and Recycle Lafayette.

Sustainable Sunday speakers include:

• Steve Richard & Wei-Tai Kwok – Sustainable Lafayette Board / Climate Change Advocates

• Mark DeSaulnier – California’s 11th District Congressman

• Kathryn Lyddan – Executive Director, Brentwood Agricultural Land Trust

• Kira Gould – co-author of Women in Green

• Bea Johnson - author of Zero Waste Home

• Ames Morrison – co-found of eco-friendly ranch & vineyard, Medlock Ames

• Charles Bohlig – Water Conservation Supervisor, EBMUD

In addition, the event will include organic and sustainably-produced local appetizers, beer and spirits (including Medlock Ames wines), an environmentally-friendly silent auction, and live jazz.

Metro Lafayette is located at 3527 Mt Diablo Blvd. in Lafayette.
