PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S PANEL: Provides an interactive forum during which parents can learn how to support the STEM academic, social, physical, and emotional needs of their daughters between the ages of 12 and 18.

•Jill West, B.S., Registered Dietician, Nutritionist and Author who has specialized in working with families and teens for 25 years. Prior to her private consulting, she was affiliated with University of California at San Francisco.
•Ellen Connors, B.A., Med, School Counselor, Miramonte High School, helps girls navigate their friend spaces and works on educating parents to help children find balance in their lives.
•Joanna Hill, M.S.W., is a private practitioner focused on life transitions, managing stress and anxiety for positive change. Her prior background includes counseling and crisis intervention at a mental health agency in San Jose.
•Eve Phillips, BS, M Eng. EECS, MBA, CEO & Co-Founder, Empower Interactive, Inc. is also the Mayor of Orinda.
•Jan Singer, BS, MS, specializes in College Admission and Career Development and has worked with teens in the bay area for the past 8 years.

Our panelists will address these important questions:

•What can girls do now to explore public and private sector STEM careers?
•How can parents help support their daughters love of STEM?
•How can we help our daughters craft a life to follow their passion?
•What are the nutritional requirements of girls between 12 and 18?
•How can we enable our girls’ persistence, resilience, problem-solving and teamwork?
