On Saturday April 23, 2016 from 9:30 am to noon, the City of Orinda will be beautified and cleaned during the eighth annual Orinda Action Day of Community Service by community volunteers.
A new theme this year is “Keep Orinda Beautiful!” To promote keeping Orinda beautiful throughout the year, a Poster Contest for K-12 students is happening in conjunction with Orinda Action Day. The winning posters will be displayed in prominent locations around town to remind citizens to pick up litter and help beautify our environment year round. Completed posters are due by noon April 23. They may be turned in at the Library Plaza on Orinda Action Day April 23, or dropped off before at Mechanics Bank, 77 Moraga Way, Orinda. Cash Prizes: First prize of $75, second prize of $50, and third prize of $25 in each category K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 will be awarded. Back of standard size poster must be marked with name, grade and contact information.
Check-in time is 9:30 AM at the Orinda Library Plaza on 26 Orinda Way, Orinda, CA 94563. The first 300 volunteers will receive a free tee-shirt, snacks and coffee upon registration. Our D.J. and "Voice of Orinda", Steve Harwood, will be presenting prizes for unusual "finds."
