The 10th annual Moraga Community Faire & Car Show will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 at the town’s Rheem Valley Shopping Center.
Fairgoers will find the fun starts as they approach the Rheem Center and can drive around the cones to get a glimpse of the famous Moraga Sink Hole. Once that maneuvering is done, there will be plenty of parking as the Faire itself is on the CVS/ Home Goods side of the parking lot.
Children will have the opportunity to try the climbing wall, get exhausted in the bounce house or explore the inside of a County Connection bus. Art, crafts and jewelry will be available from a wide range of artists and many local businesses will be on hand to introduce themselves to the community face to face. Members of the Saint Mary’s College Spirit Team will come with their face painting kits, and Explorer Passports will give every participant a chance to win prizes.
Food trucks will be selling snacks or quick lunch items such as Sliders filled with 100% grass-fed beef, Mexican favorites, yummy Asian BBQ and Loard's ice cream. Adult beverage booths served under the trees will feature craft beer and a variety of wines made by local wineries or members of the Lamorinda Winegrowers Association.
This year’s Classic Car Show area, sponsored by 5A Rent- A-Space, Moraga Motors and Neighborhood Computers, will highlight over 70 trophy cars owned by area residents and introduce attendees to the owners who have so carefully restored them.
Among the day’s highlights will be performances from the Saint Mary’s Jazz Band, JM Jazz Band, the West Coast Swing Dancers, and Rosemarie and The Rhythm Riders. To close the day, Chinese folk dancers from the Contra Costa Chinese Cultural Enrichment Organization will showcase authentic regional Chinese folk dances with colorful authentic costumes.
Free to attend, the Moraga Community Faire & Car Show is organized and sponsored by the Moraga Chamber of Commerce. For more information, visit www.moragachamber.org/faire.
