THE 2018CONCERT AT THE RES

LAFAYETTE, CA – March 20, 2018-Since 1994, Lafayette Rotarians have beenhosting an afternoon of music each Spring featuring local bands including Acalanes High School, Stanley Middle School, BentleySchool and the Big Band of Rossmoor.This annual concert was conceived by local Rotarian Dick Holt to raisemoney to support Lafayette school’s music programs, and to provide a venuewhere local musicians could entertain the community at our beautiful Lafayettereservoir.The Lafayette Rotary Clubannually produces the Concert at the Res, and, with help from the LafayetteCommunity Foundation, raised the money to fully fund the community stage at theLafayette reservoir for use by the entire community.
This year’s eventincludes the award-winning jazz combo from Acalanes, the Rossmoor BigBand/Generations in Jazz, the Bentley High Jazz combo, the Stanley middleschool Symphonic Orchestra who will be joined this year by the Westlake Middleschool from Oakland, the stunning dancers from the Performnce Academy, and thetalented Town Hall Education performers.
Along with the great live music and dancing, there will befood and beverages available. The stage is adjacent to a shady picnic area,public restrooms and the children’s playground.Once you have parked, walk East (to your left) towards the reservoirtrail.The Stage is about 150 feet fromthe parking lot.Golf cart transport willbe available to and from the stage area.Raffle tickets will also be availableto purchase with great prizes including weekend get-a-ways.The proceeds are used to fund the RotaryClubs public service projects and local school music programs.
This annual event, FREE TO THE PUBLIC, is presented by theLafayette Rotary Club and is financially sponsored by Diablo Foods, OakwoodAthletic Club, Cortese Investments, Lafayette Car Wash and Detail Center,Concord BMW, Minuteman Press, Lamorinda Weekly, Orchard Nursery, and theLafayette Chamber of Commerce, and the generosity of many local and anonymousindividuals.
