Please join us to celebrate LPIE's 35 years of supporting and enriching the education of Lafayette's students!
When: Saturday, April 30, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Where: Plaza Park
What: An LPIE Celebration!
Local bands and performers
Art and science on display
The afternoon is free and open to all! Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Come for dinner or bring your own picnic. But mostly, enjoy some good entertainment and activities because we will have something for everyone!
We are looking for bands of all ages to provide the entertainment for the afternoon! We will have equipment for you to hook up to--you just need to bring your instruments! Singing group only? Just bring your voices! Want to perform a dance? That would be great, too. Parents and adults, you are encouraged to sign up, too! Please indicate your interest on this form by Monday, April 18th. We anticipate more groups signing up than we will be able to accommodate, and will let you know by April 20th if you have been selected to perform. Thank you for helping us celebrate this big event!
Originally named Lafayette Arts and Science Foundation, LASF was founded in 1980 by Lafayette parents who wanted to ensure that our schools would still be able to offer an education rich in science, art and music. Using an innovative approach, they not only created an organization to raise funds, but also one that could organize experts in their fields to deliver cutting-edge curriculum to enhance each student's education. Today, Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE) still provides innovative instruction in science, art, humanities and music, but has added direct funding for technology, foreign language, math, writing and electives/sections. From raising $5,936 in 1980 to our goal of $2.825 million this year, we have relied on parents, teachers, administrators and our amazing Lafayette community to support our schools and ensure that Lafayette continues to be home to excellent public schools.
We look forward to seeing you on April 30th. For more information visit www.lpie.org.
