In honor of The Longest Day and Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, local volunteers of the Alzheimer’s Association will hold a morning of yoga and activities at the Lafayette Reservoir on Monday, June 20 from 8:30am to 12:30pm. The Longest Day is a sunrise-to-sunset team event held annually on the Summer Solstice to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association, toward research for a cure and support for those affected. Teams create activities that honor loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers, and invite others to join them.
There will be two yoga sessions: 9:00 to 10:00 and 11:30 to 12:30. All are welcome to join. A minimum $10 donation is required to participate. Breakfast will be provided for an additional contribution.
The Alzheimer’s Association is the world’s leading voluntary health organization for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Visit their local office at 3675 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette, or call (925) 284-7942 for more information. To learn more about The Longest Day and start your own team, visit: www.alz.org/TLD.
