Connected Horse programs at Xenophon Therapeutic Riding Center in Orinda
Based on the innovative Connected Horse Research at UC Davis, Xenophon is offering 4 week Equine Assisted Workshops for people with early stage dementia and their care partners.
- no horse experience necessary, all activities from the ground, no riding
- participants must be ambulatory and have the physical stamina to be at the barn for 2-3 hours.
- care givers and persons with dementia must be able to participate as a pair
This new experience offers participants the opportunity to benefit from non riding activities with horses. Benefits can include improved non verbal communication, increased confidence, improved sleep and reduced feelings of depression or anxiety.
