Orinda Community Foundation Seeking Applications for Board Opening

Orinda Community Foundation’s mission is to enhance the quality of life in Orinda by encouraging philanthropy, building partnerships, and providing financial assistance to support community activities, beautification and the arts. OCF is a public benefit nonprofit 501(c)(3), Tax ID number 27-2134212.

The OCF and its board members are actively involved in the community, including co-sponsoring the Orinda Action Day of Community Service with the City each April, and the NorCal Kids Triathlon the last Saturday in August. Annual community donations allow support of community events and programs such as the 4th of July Parade & Celebration, Summer Concerts in the Park, Opera in the Park, Lamorinda Idol singing contest, Youth Ink Writing Competition, senior activites, Joaquin Moraga Adobe restoration, public art displays and much more.

The Risk Management Analyst will perform difficult and complex administrative and operational systems analysis that may include any or all of the following: project management/coordination of liability claims and lawsuits, supervisory duties, primary oversight for contracts review, and management of subrogation claims, as assigned.

Requires a bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, with major work in business or public administration, economics, finance, or a closely related field; and five years of progressively responsible professional experience in Risk Management and claims administration*. Ideally, experience with public entity liability and subrogation claims, as well as experience with contract review for insurance and indemnity requirements.

*A master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) invites qualified applicants to apply for an immediate Temporary Construction (TC) opening (up to 4 years) in the Accounting Division. The Accounting Division seeks an Accounting and Financial Systems Analyst (AFSA) to work closely with all members of the Human Resource Information System Replacement project. This position will collaborate with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Information System Department (ISD) staff in development of system functions and process models, program requirements and definitions, business process workflows, design documents, work breakdown structures, success measures, acceptance criteria, user acceptance testing, and pre/post implementation documentation.

The individual in this position analyzes and prepares financial and statistical reports for internal management and external government agency reporting, maintains integrity of a major system within EBMUD’s Accounting Division including performing system administration, analyses and maintenance of major modules in coordination with ISD, the Budget Office, and HRIS, and ensures maximum operational efficiency of that system. In addition, the AFSA will provide lead direction to technical and support staff as assigned.

The ideal candidate deals effectively and professionally with a variety of people in the course of work; possesses excellent written and oral communication skills; a proven ability to analyze facts, derive logical conclusions, and then make appropriate recommendations and solutions; and the ability to pay accurate, careful attention to details.

REQUIREMENTS
A typical means of acquiring the essential knowledge, skills and abilities is:
1. A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, with a major in business, accounting, finance, economics or a closely related field; and

2. Two years of experience above the entry level in either utility rate design or in accounting and financial analysis which included experience in auditing, accounting procedures development, long-range financial forecasting, budget development and/or the analysis and development of computer-based accounting systems.

East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) invites qualified applicants to apply for this temporary position (up to 6 months) for the Office of the General Manager - Communications. Under supervision, serves as EBMUD's representative to build understanding and appreciation of EBMUD's work, and build relationships with members of the community, local government and other groups. Manages a community affairs program to secure favorable actions in EBMUD's interests; and performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Completion of four years of college resulting in graduation or its equivalent, with a major in political science, public administration, communications, public relations or a closely related field.
2. Four years of experience as a community relations consultant, public relations staff member, lobbyist, legislative analyst, political consultant or in a related career field.
3. Must possess a valid California driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.
4. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and other additional hours as needed.

Desirable Experience:
• Experience working in on political or electoral initiatives, marketing and/or sales, preparation of marketing or outreach plans and programs;
• Experience making presentations to community groups, legislative bodies, at conferences and to other agencies;
• Experience working with regulatory and/or environmental protection issues; and
• Exposure to requirements and processes of local government and environmental documentation.

In addition, competitive candidates will have:
1. Working knowledge of marketing and communications; issues relating to the environmental sciences, and elements of the political process of regulatory agency functions;
2. Demonstrated skill in effective oral communication before large and small groups; explaining technical subjects to lay audiences; writing clear, concise letters memos and reports; and understanding local government processes for enactment of regulations, ordinances, codes and laws; and
3. Ability to work cooperatively with other staff and effectively represent EBMUD.

East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD), a water/wastewater industry leader headquartered in Oakland, CA invites
qualified persons to apply for an immediate Limited Term (LT) opening (up to 2 years) in the Materials and Supplies
Section of EBMUD’s Finance Department.

The incumbent will have a key role in determining EBMUD’s procurement of nearly $200 million a year in goods and services. As the Inventory Module lead, the incumbent will be responsible for implementing a new Enterprise Resource Plan (ERP) system, The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of inventory planning, scheduling, and coordinating the receiving, handling, storage, distribution, inventory control and disposal of materials, equipment and supplies used in a large public agency. Ideal candidates will also have working experience on large size IT projects, system replacements or upgrades.

The most competitive candidates for this position will have excellent oral and written communication skills; proven leadership skills and professionalism; strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subject matter experts; analyze problems, identify solutions, and make sound recommendations; and work independently or in a team environment effectively to set priorities and meet deadlines.
