Camp & School Fairs are coming to three Contra Costa County communities this month. The free expos are in Brentwood (Friday, Feb. 20), San Ramon (Saturday, Feb. 21) and Lafayette (Sunday, Feb. 22) with free activities and over 75 exhibitors allowing attendees to view a smorgasbord of camps, enrichment programs, performing arts, preschools, educational, sports and other summer programs available this year.
These free events are presented by Bay Area Festivals, Inc., which also produces Bay Area KidFest (Silver Anniversary edition May 23-25 on Memorial Day Weekend in Concord). Bay Area KidFest has been voted Best Community Event four consecutive times by readers of Claycord.com. Bay Area Festivals has donated over $70,000 to educational, health, sports and youth non-profits in the past five years.
Producer Jay Bedecarre says, “We’ve had an outstanding response to our Camp & School Fairs the past two years so we’ve added East County this year! The fair provides families with a one-stop shopping experience as they plan their summer activities.” He adds that there is a wide variety of schools and camps for children, teens and families including preschools, day camps, overnight, performing arts, YMCA, scouts and sports. Camps from all over California are taking part.
The first 200 families to each fair will receive a goody bag. There will be a free raffle drawing for camps and KidFest tickets plus anyone bringing a can of food for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano will receive an extra raffle ticket for each can.
Admission is free and there is ample free parking at each site.
East County Camp & School Fair is on Friday, Mar. 20, from 5-8 p.m. at Brentwood Senior Activity Center, 193 Griffith Lane at the corner of Balfour Rd. The Saturday, Feb. 21, Tri-Valley Camp & School Fair is at 12885B Alcosta Blvd. in San Ramon two blocks off Crow Canyon Rd.
